American Actions, World Impacts (Teal)
Title
American Actions, World Impacts (Teal)
Description
By the mid 1960s, the United States had demonstrated its capacity to transform environments on a large scale, anywhere it the world. Above ground nuclear weapons testing irradiated parts of the American West and the Pacific, sickening many over the coming decades. In Vietnam, Operation Ranch Hand spayed that nation's forests with the defoliant Agent Orange in an effort to deprive the Vietcong of food and cover. American military projects in particular proved able to environmentally transform the earth.
