Title
"Greater efficiency and profits" Bell Telephone System Advertisement, Sports Illustrated 1968.
Subject
business, phone, communication, clients, bell telephone system
Description
The advertisements asks the viewer "Business problems building up? Profit squeeze? Paperwork? Costs? Improved communications might help you solve them." The ad is a pitch for hiring Bell Telephone System's "communications consultant" who can analyze and fix "weak links" in the viewers' business. The ad depicts two white, older men wearing suits and ties. One holds a folder, and the other is looking at it with arms crossed. Several models of telephone are arranged before them. The ad placement in Sports Illustrated implies that the magazine's readership will occupy a similar socio-economic space and identify with the troubled white business owner.
